We are so excited for the new adventure of KANAKUK EXPEDITIONS! If you don’t know, we have started taking small group trips with our current and past Kamp families, and it has been epic!!
As someone who loves to travel and loves to plan travel even more, this venture has been exciting! Making a way for Kamp families to adventure together has been a dream of mine for decades!
In 2024, we soft-launched our first trip. We took a group of couples on a catamaran trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the dream was cemented into reality!
Several months later, in August, our second Kanakuk Expeditions trip took a group of men on a 150-mile wave runner trip up the Inside Passage of Alaska. That may sound exhausting, but the experience was so great that we are planning another trip just like that for 2027! Alaska is breathtaking, and to see it from the water—sometimes side by side with a whale—was nearly indescribable!
In January, a group of dads and their teenage sons and daughters hiked to the rooftop of Africa on a once-in-a-lifetime Kilimanjaro hike. The guides and porters made the trip as easy as possible, and almost the entire group summited in the early morning as the sun was coming up over East Africa.
We are ramping up KANAKUK EXPEDITIONS in the upcoming year with five new trips!
EUROPE, NOVEMBER 2025: A group of mothers and daughters will head to the Alps to experience the Christmas Markets of Austria, Germany, and Switzerland! We have moms and daughters of all ages, including five three-generation groups, counting down the days until they immerse themselves in a festive European Christmas story. They will meet in Vienna, then journey through the scenic Danube Valley to Salzburg before arriving in Munich. The trip will continue through Bavaria to Oberammergau and Innsbruck. Before journeying home, they will embrace the Swiss Yuletide cheer in Lucerne. It will be a Christmas that those moms, daughters, and grandmothers will never forget!
CHILE, JANUARY 2026: A group of dads and their teenage sons and daughters will head south to Patagonia. They will spend four days trekking through the stunning landscapes of the W Trek. While in Chile, they will boat through the Strait of Magellan, walk with the Magellanic penguins, and kayak the Grey and Serrano rivers.
BRAZIL, FEBRUARY 2026: A group of storytelling fishermen will get to go on the trip of a lifetime as they head to Brazil to catch the beautiful Peacock Bass. Their temporary home will be on a houseboat train on the Amazon. They will spend four days fishing and fellowshipping and will come home with incredible stories to tell. Many of the men will add on a couple of days in Rio after the trip.
ICELAND, FEBRUARY 2026: Grab your Valentine and let’s go to Iceland for the most epic Valentine’s Weekend ever! We will hit the ground running and pack in as many Icelandic adventures as possible into this couple’s trip. The group will begin the trip snorkeling in the Silfra Fissure between two continental plates in the clearest water imaginable. They will chase the Northern Lights and see many waterfalls and geysers. They will get to walk through an ice cave, snowmobile on a glacier, and relax in a lagoon or two. There is still room on this trip, and we would LOVE to have you join us!
SWITZERLAND, AUGUST 2026: Moms, grab your teenage son or daughter and join us for an adventure in Switzerland! The trip begins in Zurich and ends in Milan, and we will adventure our way South through the Alps. If riding a glider zipline, a mountain cart, or a trotbike sounds exciting, let’s go! How about Europe’s steepest open-air funicular or a hike around a Swiss Mountain lake? You’ll get breathtaking beauty. If rappelling down a canyon wall, jumping into an alpine river, or sliding down a natural rock waterslide sounds like the best vacation, we’ve got you covered. This isn’t your typical sightseeing tour; this is an adventure that you and your child will talk about around the dinner table for decades! There is still room on this trip, and it won’t be the same without you!
ICELAND, AUGUST 2026: Dads, we have another opportunity for you to adventure with your teenage son or daughter next summer in Iceland. If snorkeling between tectonic plates, ice climbing, or river rafting sounds amazing, let’s go! You’ll also see waterfalls, ice caves, and geysers on your way to soaking in a lagoon and during a day trek over Brennisteinsalda Mountain. If you love a summer trip that is off the beaten path, then join us in Iceland! There are a few spots still open.
And we aren’t stopping in 2026! We are planning trips to camp in a cave in Vietnam, sail and bike along the coast of Croatia, walk where Paul and the disciples walked, ride a camel in Morocco, see the cherry blossoms in Japan, and much more! We are planning trips for couples, dads and kids, moms and kids, and trips for the whole family! As you are planning your future vacations, come vacation with us!
